Learning centers include our very own unique discovery & sensory area; a well-stocked block center; a dramatic play area (play kitchen, dress-up center, market place, kitchen table & baby station); a process art area with open-ended materials; a creation station/drawing area; a music center; a transportation area; a storytime & puppets area; giant chalk board/magnetic board center; large dollhouse & fairy treehouse; and, a Lego center. Our fenced-in backyard includes a mud pie kitchen, sandbox, mini-digging garden, water table; truck dirt pit w/big honkin' Tonka trucks and child-operated sand-digger crane; a slide; and, a bubble & potion station. Children will experience a variety of hands-on sensory play with natural materials like sand, water, dough, clay, soil, seeds, pebbles, sea shells, pine cones, feathers and mud. We revel in loose parts play! We create authentic art using process art exploration techniques and open-ended materials. | Comment: | Mrs. Leisha has made us feel like family. My husband and I feel safe leaving our daughter with her. Mrs. Leisha has so many different creative activities for the kids. She celebrates holidays and birthdays which make certain days ver special. I can’t be happier with Mrs. Leisha. She is one of the best things that has happened to us. |

| Comment: | My son Ben went to Gingerbread Play House for a year and absolutely loved it. Ms. Leisha really cares about all the kids and takes the time to make sure they are all comfortable and engaged. Ben felt like Ms. Leisha’s was a home away from home and really looked forward to going to her house and playing with his friends. Ms. Leisha is also clearly well practiced at the art of balancing play and learning and I really felt like she was invested in my son’s overall development. The range of activities (walking to parks, amazing parties, playing in the mud, creative art projects, ect) was impressive and she also has an excellent collection of exciting and unique toys for the kids. I really loved knowing that my son was not only safe but also learning and having fun every day. Great daycare! |

| Comment: | I highly recommend Leisha's Gingerbread Play House! Leisha is extraordinarily dedicated to providing childcare of the highest quality in all respects. She is truly a FIND! Our daughter spent 2 years with Leisha and she had a great time from the outset! She learned how to socialize with others with proper manners, etc. and she received terrific developmental support educationally such that she excelled upon starting a high-performance private Kindergarten class. Leisha also goes above and beyond by communicating in a great way with parents, providing thoughtful evaluations, etc. You can't go wrong with Leisha! |

| Comment: | Leisha lovingly cared for my daughter for two years and until she entered kindergarten. My daughter felt safe and comfortable from day one. Leisha is dedicated, dependable and extremely knowledgeable about early childhood development. She incorporates aspects of some of the leading early childhood education theories and at the same time helps reinforce the basics such as manners and conflict resolution. My daughter learned so much thanks to Leisha's unique approach to helping young children enjoy learning. She was both well rounded socially and well above the state and county academic learning requirements upon entering kindergarten. I highly recommend Leisha's daycare to anyone who wants their little one to benefit from a warm family environment and a great learning environment! |

| Comment: | Gingerbread Playhouse was a wonderful first school experience for our son. We were so fortunate to find her! She is loving, caring and provides a fantastic preschool curriculum. As soon as you step in her home, you will fall in love with the home preschool. It is amazing all the fun activities she provides. |

| Comment: | My daughter spent 2 years with Miss Leisha before she went to kindergarten. I knew from the moment I walked in that this was the place for her. After having a bad experience with home daycare when my son was little, I was very hesitant and cautious about choosing a provider. I never second-guessed this decision! I never had to worry about my daughter because I know that she had the best care in Frederick. Ms. Leisha is well organized and truly passionate about helping the children learn and grow as individuals. You won't find a better program than hers! |
