As a new parent, my husband and I interviewed many in home daycare providers before we made a decision on where to send our newborn son. The minute we interviewed Melissa my motherly instincts kicked in and I knew this was the place to send our son. As a nervous full time mother, Melissa went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable leaving our son. He has now been in Melissa's care for 3 years and I truly believe Melissa has been the biggest blessing to our little family. She takes care of our most prized possession everyday with compassion and gratitude. She truly loves what she does for a living and it shows everyday. Our son comes home with great art projects on a weekly basis and has a lot of friends his age at daycare. I have never felt the need to move him into a more preschool like environment as Melissa has her day completely organized and structured. She teaches our children something new everyday but also allows them to be children. The first day I dropped our son off at daycare she looked at me and said "You can call every single hour of the day, if that makes your day better." Just knowing she understood where we were coming from as scared, new parents made the day that much easier. Lastly, everyone is entitle to there own opinion but I have to say I completely disagree with the negative comments posted here about Melissa, there are two sides to every story. A mothers initiation goes along way and I would be happy to refer Melissa to any family that is looking for quality in home child care. Melissa will forever be a part of our family and I cannot thank her enough for letting us bring our son there everyday and leave him without a worry.

Comment: In response to the comment above, my child has been in this daycare for 5 yrs and I am appalled by the accusations . I have met this so called Step-Parent and he is a very controlling and scary guy. Everything stated above is not true and ridiculous. Mrs. Chesky is a very loving and caring provider and only wants the best for her "kids". She runs a very structured daycare with lots of crafts, singing and learning..Furthermore, the only time she has ever shared information with us was when the so called step-father from above review sent her a threatening letter and the police, county and parents at the daycare were informed of this letter. It's unfortunate that these kind of comments can be put on the internet without any accountability.. I would not think twice about going to her daycare..

Due to recent life events, my wife and I informed Melissa Chesky (Owner) that we intended to move our son from her in-home daycare to pre-school. The events, although not directly related to the daycare, affected the overall lifestyle of our family. And, after three years of in-home daycare, we determined that my wife’s son (my step-son) was prepared for the next step, which included a structured environment, a focus on a curriculum more suited for a three (3) year old and daily activities commonly associated growth, cirriculum and surrounding him by other kids his age. We felt pre-school offered an opportunity for our son to associate with other three (3) and (4) year old children in an environment focused on him . We made decisions related to the in-home daycares vacations schedule, ages of children cared for at the daycare, and the blurred lines between employee and employer. So, we informed Mrs. Chesky of our decision and asked how long she required prior to ending the daycare relationship. What ensued has been a nightmare for my wife. Instead of being supportive, hopeful and/or excited for our son’s new opportunities, Mrs. Chesky began to send lengthy text messages to my wife questioning her judgment, character and the reason(s) for the decision we made. She acted as though she, Mrs. Chesky, was owed a voice in our decision, like our decision was personal. She made side comments about me directly to my wife in said text messages. The situation became very hostile very quickly, questioning friendships, loyalty and outright attempting to make my wife feel guilty about moving our son. In addition, instead of allowing my wife the opportunity to disclose our decision to other families and friends, Mrs. Chesky contacted felt it was her right to share our decision with anyone she felt she could. Given these actions, I would recommend that any parent investigate cautiously the daycare you sent your child to.
