Description: Hello. I'm Desirae and I am looking for a family beginning March 2021. I just got done watching newborn twins for the last year. I watch out of my own home, but function more as a nanny for one family than an in-home daycare for multiple families. I am a licensed in home daycare for legality and peace of mind for my families. Days of Operation: Monday - Friday Enrolled in Subsidized Child Care Program: No Type of Care: Daytime Transportation: Field Trips Additional Information: In 2008, I graduated with an Early Childhood Degree from South Dakota State University. From there, I went to work at Creme De Le Creme, an upscale preschool and early childcare center in Leawood, KS, as their Kindergarden teacher. I then accepted the position at Creme as Director of Administration. After a couple years, I realized I missed the direct interaction and teaching with the kids and accepted a job as Kindergarden teacher at a private Christian school in Shawnee, Maranatha Christian Academy. I am 35 years old. My husband, Nick, has been a youth pastor the last 12 years. We have 3 kids. Colton, 8. Reece, 6. Hadley, 3. We have two sisters I have watched since they were babies. They are 4 years old and 1 year old. We have a daily schedule that includes play-center times, preschool teaching (I provide curriculum and teaching), reading time, outdoor fun, crafts, snacks, meals, and naps (if necessary). Fridays are fun days that many times include a special activity or a field trip. We have dress-up theme days and holiday parties. Throughout each day, I send pictures and updates (per your desire), so that you never feel disconnected. After my years of teaching experience, I provide everything that a corporate day-care center/school provides, but with a very personal investment into your child. I purposely keep our group-size small to accomodate an intimate enviroment and experience with both the kids and you, as their parents. | Comment: | Desirae watched our son when I had to go back to work and he was 5 months old. To say I was nervous is an understatement. We had never had anyone else watch our son and both my husband and I grew up with our grandparents as sitters so we had never used a care service in any way. The fact that we found Desirae is a true miracle. From the moment we met her we knew it was a good fit. She is so warm and welcoming. Our son would giggle with delight when we would drop him off. She would send the best pictures throughout the day of him playing with her kiddos, who are the sweetest and nicest children. She would even hold him as he slept when he struggled to go down for naps. I truly felt like it was a member of my family watching my son. If you're looking for a caregiver who will love your child like their own then look no further. Desirae does fun activities with the children to keep them growing and learning. If we hadn't moved we would still be at Desirae's for care. Look no further!! |

| Comment: | Desirae has cared for our twin boys in her home over the past year since they were 3 months old. She is phenomenal! She immediately put us as first-time parents at ease with her experience, knowledge, and kindness. She is the most genuine, compassionate caregiver, and also excels at teaching and advancing developmental milestones with the activities she does with the kids. She sends updates and pictures throughout the day. We highly recommend Desirae! |

| Comment: | As a first time parent there’s a lot of emotions those first few months. A lot of good emotions and a lot of “sleep deprived, where did that come from” emotions. So at first we were a little nervous when my wife was going back to work after 3 months of maternity leave. I know it was especially tough for my wife after spending every day with our son, Pax, since he was born. Des alleviated all those initial worries! She did such a good job watching our son. You could tell she cared so much for him. It was so nice too having somebody with so much recent experience with infants. Her and her husband have three young kids of their own, in addition to other kids she has watched, so she knows the ins and outs of what to not worry about and what worked and what didn’t work in the past. She also understood that every infant is different and unique and was great about picking up on our son’s cues for what he needed specifically. Des is extremely knowledgeable and professional, but even more important to my wife and I, she has the biggest heart for kids, is kind, sweet, and loved our Pax so well while we were at work. We drove 20 minutes to get to Des’s house to drop/pick up our son, but it was well worth it having peace of mind knowing that our little one was somewhere special. We would recommend Des 100%, without hesitation or reservation! |

| Comment: | Desirae brings her early childhood education and experience to her care. I know she was not just looking after my son, she was providing developmentally appropriate activities and learning opportunities. She kept thorough notes of his schedule and I loved getting picture updates throughout my day. She has a gentle and loving disposition and I only wish we lived close enough to have our children still with her. |

| Comment: | Desirae has been our care provider for our two children for the last two years. Our girls absolutely adore her and she makes each of them feel loved and special all day long! She also sends me pictures of their activities regularly through the day. We knew her family through our previous church for a year before she started watching the girls and we received many positive recommendations from prior families! We felt like our girls would be in safe hands from day one and we have never had any doubt. She has done a structured pre-K curriculum with our four year old. She is a former teacher and very patient and consistent with the learning piece of the day. However, my favorite part (not to mention our kids) is the fact that she incorporates so much outside time on any possible day! I personally want my kids to get as much outdoor and creative play as possible and they would never have received as much anywhere else as they have with Desirae! |
