| Comment: | I would NOT recommend this childcare to ANYONE. the Guy running it is very rude. he is threatening us and being down right mean just because I am trying to keep communication open. We found Todd on the Jeffco Child Care Website. When we went to see his In-home Daycare we were impressed and placed our son on a waiting list to start in September of 2019. Todd did give us a contract to read over but we didn’t plan to sign it till our son started. Todd also wanted a $200 check deposit to hold our son’s spot. I have read over the contract many times and it never stated anywhere that a deposit is needed, but we decided to go ahead and give it to him because he promised to not cash it till we start. A few weeks went by and Todd called me. He said he felt that he needed to deposit my check now so he knows it won’t bounce, I said that was fine. I was hesitant but I figured if we ended up not sending our son there then he would just give it back. A few more weeks went by and my husband got into an accident and was out of work. Money was tight and our family was helping us with child care for our son. I called Todd right away to let him know so he would have plenty of time to fill the spot. (5+ months) I did ask if he could give me back my deposit and explained that we are very tight on money. He said that he needed to think about it. He wanted to do what was fair and once he fills the spot maybe he could give it back. He was still unsure what he was going to do, so I said that is fine but could you please let me know what you decide. I Texted him 6 days later and this was our conversation…. Kimber: hi Todd I haven't heard from you about the deposit. I hope you can find it in your heart to give it back to us especially since I gave you over 6 months notice. We are really hurting for money right now because of my husband's accident. Todd: As I told you before I want to be fair. I did not do interviews or try to fill that spot when I took your deposit, that's why you leave a deposit. It's only been a couple of days not even a week. As of now you should not depend on getting any deposit back. If I fill the spot I will be fair and give it to you. No need to contact me every week and ask Kimber: Wow that was quit rude. I am just trying to keep in contact. in the very beginning you told me you weren't even going to deposit my check untill JC started. so you change what you say all the time. How can I trust that you will be honest and give me my money back? I definitely will be leaving a review of how I feel about your services. Kimber Todd I don't agree with the way you are handling all of this. Especially now since you have told me to not expect my deposit back. So I'm going to go ahead and file a complaint with the state. A compromise is needed. Todd: I'm sorry you're having troubles understanding how this works. You wrote a deposit, I cashed the check for you would have received for your first week of service which would've been second week in September. After I excepted your deposit I did not except any more interviews for the position when family's called. As I told you when you called ,September is a long ways away but you said you were on able to Attend in September per our agreement. I've then told you if somebody feels a position I would be fair to you. I've already asked you not to badger me about the money. But you continue. I have documentation of everything. If you continue to badger or do anything negative to my business I will then make phone calls. You should have just let me interview for the position and let me be fair to you instead of badgering me. If you contact me any further I will call Lakewood police myself and show them all of my documentation We want to be fair also, However He didn’t keep to his word about holding the check till we start so how can I trust that he will give me the money back when the spot is filled? Now he is threatening us if we speak out and refuses to communicate with us. We have given him plenty of time to fill the spot. We are willing to wait for the deposit if he can give us an expected date for the refund, A compromise is needed. We have contacted the Lakewood PD and are filing a complaint with the state. |
