Comment: If you're looking for a reliable daycare that's going to take care of your child, do not go here. Jessika and her employees are always opening late, always closing early, and always taking several days off in a row. My child also told me on numerous occasions that they did not receive breakfast because they were not called for breakfast and the only way you get breakfast is if you get called for breakfast that day. I did discuss this with them. I explained to that I had no more PTO to take due to their closing and they basically informed me that that was my problem. Luckily I was able to find a new daycare right away, But unfortunately I used up all my PTO on Care Bear Kids being closed. If I could give them zero stars I would. I've also heard other horror stories, from other parents and the neighbors, about them just letting the children play about outside in the front and not paying any attention to them while just staring at their cell phone. Don't waste your time or money just find a different daycare!

Comment: My child was at Care Bear Kids on the SW side of Cedar Rapids from 4 mos to 15 mos. It was a decent in-home for kids, but a poor environment for infants and toddlers. You can tell Ms. Suzie loves kids, but Jessika is only doing it for the money and to stay home with her own children. We had several issues with how the home center is run, and the location and price kept us there longer than we should have been. We got on a few wait lists until we found a day care we have been at for 3 weeks now where we are much happier. Issues that I feel any parent should have a heads up on: *You will use all of your PTO to cover Jessika and Suzie's camping. They take 15 paid days off plus holidays (Yes, in addition to holidays), and when they close due to illness they dont count it as one of their 15 days. *Her breakfast choices were not what we wanted fed to our child, and there is no way she is adhering to the food guidelines (mini powdered Donuts? Pop-Tarts? Fruit loops?) *Jessika will message you at work to say your child is "struggling" if they dont adhere to the 2 hour nap time or "seem sad today". When I told them my child only sleeps for an hour to an hour and a half, I was told that was not acceptable for them and that he was making it difficult. When I asked if they could let him read books quietly in his crib or sit with a sippy cup, I was told no - no exceptions are made. So know that they will not work with you if your child does not sleep for a solid 2 hours every afternoon. *Biting. It happens anywhere, but Jessika and Suzie hid the fact that my son was bitten on two occasions (5 times total in 3 mos). It is unacceptable to find a bite mark on your child at bath time. When I sent Jessika a picture and asked if my child had been bitten that day, she said "maybe he did that to himself". After speaking with another parent, I found out their child had also been bitten and they were not informed. * If you overpay her she will not refund you. She told me that I would be refunded two weeks of daycare for when my child stopped going there. She's made excuses for the last 3 weeks, and I have not seen the payment. I gave her a month's notice we were ending services. Do not expect to get any money back if you overpay, including your deposit.
