Comment: The facility itself is nice very clean. In fact this is their top priority. So much so that you don't get the support necessary for potty training. If your child is not potty trained I would not recommend taking them here. The only training they will get is in a training diaper, because there is a no accident policy due to risking ruining furniture and carpet. It's odd to run a daycare in your home and not understand this is going to be part of it. Things will get ruined and dirty that's the risk you're taking running it out of your home. I found it to become such a setback for my child as my child would go all weekend in regular underwear (no accidents) only to have me pick my child back up in a training diaper. This was very confusing for my child. Accidents happen it's called potty training! We also suggested things to address concerns of the provider during potty training (help me & I help you) and I was told specifically "I won't change my rules for one child". Not every child is the same nor do they potty train the same, so don't try and tell them you know what works for your child, you will be heard but not listened to. On another note not very personable you don't hear about how your child is doing unless it's something bad. Us mom's want to hear both good and bad - not just when they've had a bad day. A quick 20 second update is just far too much to ask, so if you like to know what your child did for the day forget it. When I brought this up I was told “It’s too hard and time consuming to talk to every parent that picks up, so if something bad happens we will tell you”. Lastly our first day there instead of a happy warm welcome, I was asked specifically "are you going to be paying $100 for this week? Oh and remember also on Thursday fees are due for the next two weeks." I couldn't help but think - WOW are we doing this because you love kids or just for the money? We all work for money but a warm welcome to help us feel comfortable and confident would have made the world of a difference! Not the right fit for my child, this was my experience and I am going to share it for any other mom's out there that are like me. You are gone from your child for 8+ hours a day it's not too much to ask to know how they're doing (WITHOUT) having to ask. Potty training should be on how the mom wants to do it, and there should be no arguments. Mom should be supported - WE are paying you (the daycare) for a service. Provide that service. It's not too much to ask! I was told too many times for comfort how busy they were. I couldn’t help but get the impression that they were not spending enough time with the kids because there were so many of them. Every child deserves the appropriate attention. Perhaps if you can’t do that you shouldn’t take on so many children. To end on a positive note because it wasn't all bad they do provide the preschool and that was what I was looking forward to the most but unfortunately with the "my way or the highway rules" we were pushed out before I could see how great the preschool is but it's nice that it's offered there.
