Comment: I am not usually one to write reviews , however, I wish I would've saw this review from 2015 before I left my children there in 2017. Terri was in fact sitting in her recliner single chair in front of the TV every time and my children were always on the couch while she watched the news or was on the house phone. My schedule was irregular, and yes she did have an open door policy, which is why I know she was on her ass most of the time because she was every time I came through her door. Also, every time I came to the couch my then approx 8/9 month old at the time, she would hop up crying hysterically with her arms up for me to get her (yes, she had my baby just sitting on the couch with no stimulation, no learning environment or show, just doing nothing but watching whatever Terri was watching). She cried every time I handed her to Terri as well and she was my friendliest child, even to this day. My other daughter who was 2 years old at the same time was sitting in a diaper (on the couch) with feces in it when I arrived and I had to change her myself when I got there and again, her and her husband were sitting down, her in her chair and him on the couch that time. Additionally, my mother came one time to pick my girls up and Terri kicked her dog in front of my mom. All of this put together, but more importantly my children's reactions to being in her care , are why I pulled my kids out only a month or two in. Listen to your children's new or weird behaviors , they're telling you something even though they can't completely speak for themselves.

The review listed above, on my childcare home and myself is totally not true. I have been a childcare provider for 27 years with excellent reviews from patents. I never leave a baby in a car seat and, as a matter of fact, I put all car seats on my front porch during the day. DCFS does not allow infants to be in car seats except when they are ready to go home. I never "prop up" a bottle when feeding a baby. Again, if my DCFS licensing rep saw this, I would have my license taken away. I never did this with my own children so therefore, I would never do this with a baby that I was taking care of. All the children that I cared for and continue to care for are NEVER diety or "saturated" in formula or milk. My kids are changed every 2 hours and if a baby spits up, the baby is changed immediately and I wash the dirty outfit and send it home with the parent. My so called tv room is actually part of my two room daycare. I never "sit" in front of a TV while my daycare is open. My daycare home has an open door policy. When a parent drops off their child, they come in the front door, sign in their child and come right into the main area of my daycare. The same happens when being picked up. My door is not locked because I have nothing to hide. I have never raised a hand to any child and the allegation that a baby had scratches and bruises on it's face is totally false and a lie as is all this parents remarks. With all the remarks this parent has to make about me, she would have to be in my home every day, all day. I encourage parents to stop in at any time during the day so they can see what is going on. As it is stated in my contract with the parent, "communication is the key to a happy parent/provider relationship. Please let me know if something is bothering you". The parent who wrote this review is a mean and vindictive person who really is the one who needs psychiatric help and anger management.

Comment: Unfortunately a 1 star rating is too much credit for Terri but this is the lowest ranking option. Terri is an incompetent care giver and is unsafe. The following facts support this and you can make your own judgement. Upon initial meeting/interview she is friendly and acts as if she is an advocate for children by discussing two children she cared for in which she had to report the parents to DCFS for child abuse. This is merely a cowardly tactic to make a potential customer feel “safe”. An infant was cared for by Terri (or lack of care) and was left in her car seat the entire day. Upon pick up, the infant’s clothes were saturated with formula. Terri stated that she does not change the infants because “they will just spit-up again”. I learned that this was not because of “spit-ups” after a surprise visit. Terri had the bottle propped up with the infant in the car seat while she was watching tv in the other room. This poor, unsupervised feeding technique is dangerous. There is no point to feeding if the bottle drips down the child’s neck and back. Also, the infant was found in stool numerous times with blistering diaper rashes. All infants stay in their car seats the entire day. Other children were observed with bruises on their faces. This infant came home with scratches on her face one day. When you confront Terri she does use eye contact and is abrupt/defensive with conversation. She does not greet anyone when walking in. The door stays open and you come and go as you please. It is ashamed that her behavior persists and she is able to live with the fact that she abuses children. Please do not pay such a coward, mentally unstable individual to neglect your child. Your child is better than this. Hopefully Terri can find help to fix her psychiatric issues. This is not a business for her to be in. Thank you.
