Comment: Make sure to always check the licensing website before placing your child in someone else's care. Ellen's licensing violation history should speak for itself. According to her recent compliance history with licensing, she: straps kids in car seats for naps, puts hot sauce on children's toes to get them to stop sucking, neglects that fact that some children have food allergies, doesn't run background checks on the assistant caregivers AND locks Licensing out from the nap room to prevent licensing from entering. These are just a few of many violations. Hopefully they shut her down, can't make this stuff up. Scary. https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child_Care/CCLNET/Source/Provider/ppComplianceHistory.aspx?fid=190480&tab=2

Comment: I have been with Ellen’s daycare for 5 years on and off. She took care of my first daughter from 3 months to 3 years. I cannot say enough good things about Ellen and her daycare. She truly goes the extra mile for the children and the parents. My second child my son is currently with her. He also started at 3 months and is now 2 years old. If you want a loving place for your child then look no further.

I am not a person to write reviews but felt it was important to write one about Ellen's Daycare. I am a first time Mom who was so scared to leave my 3 month old baby girl with a stranger. I will tell you that in a very short time Ellen and her staff have become like family to me and my husband. They love the children and the communication back and forth with Ellen when I wanted updates on my daughter were first class. I highly recommend Ellen's Daycare for your infant.

Unfortunately, I had an incredibly negative experience with the owner. I had planned to send my son there but due to poor communication and lack of trust in the provider after she tried to pawn my son off on another provider and kept changing her mind on when he could start to meet her needs (originally she had proposed early December and I said late November or early December would be ideal but would be based on when I delivered my son). Then she said that she could only do late December or probably not until January because of the holidays and said that the deposit was non refundable. I feel that I was was misled and was extremely uncomfortable that she tried to give us to someone else in the interim. When she  indicated that she was unable to care for our son and tried to “pawn him off” I felt both disrespected and disgusted. On the bright side, I dodged a bullet in placing my son in the care of someone who seems disinterested in building a relationship with me or my child.  It’s unfortunate that we aren’t getting our deposit back but if that’s how she chooses to run her business than it’s not a place I’d want to ever send my child. I hope this review will prevent others from the same error in judgement I had. For the sake of the overall well being and happiness of you and your child, look elsewhere.

Comment: To the lady who says her name is Beth. I do not know you. You have never been to my daycare. I have a personal relationship with all my parents. I am always at my daycare. My staff has been with me for over 14 years we are a family. No oe is scared of me since I am just a big kid who is an adult. To know me is to love me. Please make sure you have the correct Ellen's Daycare. We go the extra mile here at my daycare. We always answer the phone, you are never put on hold and you never have to leave a message. I cook all hot homemade organic meals. The children participate in all types of learning and activities. In the summer we do cook outs, splash days in a kiddie pool, outside time, singing, dancing, story time, arts and crafts, puppet shows, are daily at my daycare. I am loved by all my wonderful parents. Please call my daycare I promise after speaking to me once you will want to come and visit with me for a tour and to meet my wonderful staff.

I have used Ellen's Daycare for the past 10 years. My oldest is 10, my middle child is 7 and my baby is now 3 years old. Ellen is always there to talk to me. I understand when she is busy with other parents or children when I call but she promptly returns my call. I love the fact that there are three ladies there to care for the children. I think it is a plus that someone always answers your phone call. She does so many activities for the children to keep them happy. She makes homemade baby food and hot meals daily for all the kids. I love the fact that she takes pictures of the kids and has a PRIVATE Facebook page so I can keep up with my little one throughout the day. Ellen is the real deal she loves the kids and all the parents. Lets not forget how hard we work as parents to love our children. Ellen works very hard to love all the children that are not her blood. I can't say enough good things about her. From my first phone call to her I knew she was the place for my first child. She has had the same staff for over 10 years that was a big selling point for me. Give her a call you won't be sorry.

Comment: Ellen and her staff provide a loving, caring, safe, nurturing, and educational environment for all of the children that walk, crawl, or are carried through the doorway! I searched and searched for an at-home daycare I was comfortable leaving my 13 week old baby and was relieved when I found Ellen. I knew right away she would be perfect. Ellen and her staff have exceeded my expectations in every way in the over two years my son has been at Ellen’s Daycare. My son is always happy, loved, and provided with well-balanced, high quality nutritional food. Around these ladies, he has already learned so many social and academic skills. The staff is always friendly and welcoming of all children. There are not enough good things to say about Ellen’s Daycare! I would never take my child anywhere else!

Comment: I love the fact that at Ellen's Daycare the phone is always answered. Ellen has been doing daycare for over 17 years I know this because I brought my first child to her 16 years ago and later had another child who I also brought to Ellen's Daycare. Her staff is warm and friendly and they all get along well. The children are loved and cared for in the best way possible. I am thrilled with Ellen and her daycare. I thank God for her and her girls.

Comment: We had a terrible experience with Ellen. She is not warm or welcoming in the least. Ellen and her daycare lasted one week before I terminated them. They have terrible communication skills. They were not willing or able to pass on how a 3 month old baby had eaten, slept, if the baby had dirty diapers throughout the day, etc. When asked to provide this information, Ellen informed me that her staff is too busy to provide this information and she then attempted to hang up on me. I fired her right then and there. We did not take our daughter back and we were out of town the first two days of the following week. On day three, Ellen called and threatened to throw away our child's belongings and to throw away the breast milk we had not yet been able to pick up. She is incredibly rude and is really only interested in money. I am absolutely positive she is not always present. Her staff is terrified of her, yet did admit that Ellen does not spend all day at the daycare. I would absolutely NOT recommend using Ellen's Daycare under any circumstance.

Called center 2x and both times Ellen was not there. I explained to the person that answered that this was 2nd time I called and she said I must've called when she went out to pick up her kids. About an hour after I hung up Ellen called me back stating "first of all I'm always here, always in my office, and I'm a teacher, whoever told you I was gone should've told you I was unavailable..." "We are always busy and will not have anything available until after July" When I said ok thank you, she just cut me off and hung up. If she's this inpatient with a concerned parent just imagine her patience with a screaming child
