Comment: I have thought about how to write this review and have came to the conclusion that I feel very deceived and lied to about how this daycare and her sons daycare (Brite bear) are operated. My child made many friends and for that, 2 stars. There is hardly any school curriculum being followed. Sick, sick babies/children being allowed to come to daycare. (This particular baby had fever, goopy eyes, and cough. Still was allowed at daycare the entire time) No background checks on new employees. And no organization with children’s sippy/ bottles. They are thrown in a drawer and shared. My child struggled for weeks when we started. Broke my heart everytime, JoAnnas ‘suggestions’ were lectures about children’s behaviors and weaponizing her ‘23’ years in childcare knowledge. No actual help or progress. Behaviors were not discussed with parents rather they were discussed between employees behind the scenes. When JoAnna was forced to discuss them there was an undertone of “well what’s happening at home?” No, it’s what’s happening in your DAYCARE. My child has had severe behavioral problems while attending her daycare. Since leaving my child has stopped these problem behaviors. Problem children are bounced daycare to daycare when no employee wants to deal with them. They allow the new employees with no background checks to pick students up from school. It’s very dark and naptime is forced. There are childlocks INSIDE the playroom so children cannot get out. (I have videos and pictures from inside the daycare during business hours of this.) Employees do not interact with children and they yell at them. It’s a revolving door of caregivers in which JoAnnas priority is not quality of caregiver rather that she doesn’t want to pay them liveable and reasonable wage. Some of the people who come in and do activities with the children suffer from major mental health disorders and require job coaches and this can put children at risk. (I witnessed the activity teacher tie a string around a 1 year olds neck) Absolutely no structure, no organization, and children play with old dirty toys, the type of toys that are stored in your grandmas closet when you go to visit. And no, they are never cleaned. Brite bear has bleach and chemicals in the bottom cabinet that is accessible to children. Most children know how to open the baby gate and/or jump over it this poses a risk for children who like to escape. The caregiver ratio is often breached therefore children are not properly supervised. One problem child in particular is abusive towards babies and to my knowledge has not been addressed with the parents. Her facility is nice, her structure is not. I couldn’t go back after everything I have witnessed. there needs to be a total rebuild on how she operates. I suggested sensory toys early on when my child was struggling with drop off to which had no avail. Suggestions are not taken seriously, therefore I believe she doesn’t take your children seriously. P.S. I am not the only parent who was left with a bad taste in their mouth from this daycare.

Comment: Joanna is not open to helping out what is going on in the daycare and if you tell her something about her son she says oh he would not do that and they let kids go there even if they are really sick

Comment: There are two sides to every story. The review left my JoAnna is incorrect, and another example of her deceit or lack of connection with her clients. First of all, my children were there full time. Also, I never complained about anything, but rather reminded them multiple times that they needed soap in the bathroom. Second, this review was left shortly after we left the daycare. It was the event that occurred with JoAnna's son that I unfortunately found out about six months too late. This is not a result of hurt feelings. As I stated previously, Tom was a great person. I simply believe that people deserve to know where they are taking their children. Another reason for leaving this daycare, was that I had conversations with an employee there, who told me that the children were denied snacks when they asked and that JoAnna's sons were mean to the children.

Comment: We have been going to Turner daycare for almost 9 months. But is seems like we have known the owners Tom, JoAnna and the staff for a lifetime. We have had many wonderful experiences during our time there. The staff have been great in working with my schedule. My kids look forward to going to the daycare every day, even on days they are off from school. The place is kept very tidy and well maintained. They have fun activities/fun holidays parties. I really can't say enough good things about them. I feel good knowing my son and daughter are in good hands. They have met all my expectations of a day care and then some.. Thanks Turner Daycare for all you do for my kids and being there when I can't be. You guys Rock!! Reina Bartow

Comment: There are two sides to every story. Turner daycare tried to appease this reviewer who was upset when we could no longer keep her kids part-time. We made efforts to please this client, but she constantly complained despite our best efforts. Some of the info in the review are inaccurate and exaggerated. I believe this reviewer is motivated by hurt feelings. These specific issues should have been brought to our attention by the reviewer so we could resolve them. This review does not reflect the overall picture of the high quality standards we provide at Turner Daycare. The review was left 6 months after leaving our care as she openly admitted. We at Turner Daycare take pride in the care we provide for our children. We strive for excellence, cleanliness, and quality every day and address any issues as they arise by keeping communication open with our parents. We have been in business 19 years and have a strong history of happy clients and referrals. Come check us out on our website!! For further info, visit www.turnerdaycare.com

Comment: This daycare is not great. We kept our kids there for a while because they had friends there, but I have a few complaints. First, it is really dirty. For a long time, there was either no soap in the bathroom or the soap had a lot of water added to it. This indicates to me that Joanna’s kids don’t wash their hands regularly. I also noticed that the main care provider doesn’t wash his hands after changing diapers. Second, that the name suggests the center is run by Joanna, but it is deceivingly run by her husband, Tom. Luckily, my kids like Tom. He is kind and seems to care about them. Third, there is not a lot of learning going on, just TV watching. Fourth, Tom and Joanna’s son Thomas should not be involved in childcare, whatsoever. He is moody and sushed me when I told my kids goodbye in the morning. I got report that he would hit the kids on the head and hold their faces to the ground. I tried to report it, but I found out too late. The state will not allow you to report it six months after the event.
