Simply put, I wouldn't take my son anywhere else. You know your child is in the right place when they are sad to leave every afternoon when you pick them up. I find sometimes I tend to ask Pat her opinion on matters with my son before even asking my own mom (shh, don't tell her)- that is how much I value her expertise. You have to have implicit trust in the person who cares for your child, and my husband and I have enjoyed that since day 1. Pat has not led us wrong in her advice or care of our child. You can tell she loves every minute of her day with the children in her care. My friends and coworkers are jealous when they hear the stories of how much we enjoy our son being with Pat. It is something we do not ever take for granted.

Comment: I love Pat's Place... It was the easiest thing to do to drop off my son and GO! No second guesses, sadness or worry. My son has gone there since he was 3-months-old and now that he's 5, it's sad to take him to pre-K. He and I have made life-long friends with Pat, the kids and their parents! I can't have asked for a better experience. Thinking I should have a baby just to get to see Pat every day again.

Comment: Pat’s place is the absolute best! My children are in love with Pat, and look at her as a second grandma! She has been in business for 30 years and it shows! Her staff and home are both incredibly comforting and sweet! We have never had any complaints, except for the fact they would rather stay at Pat’s Place then come home! My children have made lifelong friends and we look forward to going to Pat’s Place everyday! We love you Pat and Staff!!

Comment: my 5 month old granddaughter was in Pat's care for less than a month. Pat had different "staff" every time my granddaughter was there. My daughter requested that no ointment be applied to the baby's diaper area, after it was difficult to clean off the baby. The baby's feeding schedule was not consulted, baby had been overfed (8 ounce bottles, rather than 6 ounce) only when the baby spit up at pick up time was parent informed of how much she'd been given. The baby was put to sleep in a room with the television on, despite being lead to believe that the nap room would be quiet and darkened. in spite of all my granddaughter's belongings labeled, the baby had someone else's pacifier in her mouth at pick up. When my daughter came 45 minutes earlier than planned to pick up her child, Pat reprimanded her for not giving her a "heads up" Two days after my daughter addressed these concerns, she was sent an email over the weekend that Pat was not feeling well, and a couple of older children had the stomach flu....2 days after that (on Monday, midday) She sent another email (that was time stamped Saturday) that "she had been infected with strep, most of the children in her care have similar symptoms and repeat exposure due to the environment. With the additional needs to take care for myself and children here, I do not feel that S would be in the best situation. It generally takes 2 weeks for general viruses to cycle through my home. It would be in your best interest to find care for S in a different facility where her needs can be met on a more personalized basis." That was the email, she sent to 2 working parents in the middle of the work day. When my daughter requested to pick up the baby's things (2 bottles, with covers, pacifiers and clothing that had been all labeled, all in a bag labeled with her first and last name), she was told by Pat it would be left on her porch. 2 unwashed bottles (from 5 days before, without the appropriate covers) were the only thing left on the porch in a reused grocery bag. All requests for the rest of items have gone unanswered. After all of these red flags, I am compelled to share this experience - Inside of 30 days, it was very clear that this is not a quality day care, the staff is unprofessional (Pat refers to herself a "hillbilly" -which is offensive,- as an explanation for a "laid back" attitude), the "2 week cycle of virus" raises sanitary standards that are likely unmet, and the lack of knowledge that a 5 month old baby DOES require personalized attention, is frightening, at best.
