| Comment: | I have a child that had attended Little Blessings from roughly 7/2020-11/2022 and another child from roughly 7/2022-11/2022. No issues until a city-worker witnessed one of the providers spank another child while outside. When asked if they spank, both providers said no. When what was seen was brought to light, both providers backtracked saying they “bop.” I asked for clarification. The spank was obvious abuse. The “bop” was a light touch, per demonstration. I told the providers I was not aware that was being performed to my children and asked it not be done. The main provider burst into tears stating she would not be accused of hurting the children and left the room. I did attempt to speak with the main provider on two separate occasions regarding the incident. The first attempt went well, in fact I thought everything was resolved. Then at 2:30 AM, the other provider sent me a “how dare you” message where she admitted, in writing, they do indeed put hands on the kids. However hard, there was no discussion of contact in the contract nor was it made aware to the parents. The second attempt to speak with the main provider included her husband as a mediator, and she claimed I burst into her home yelling, cussing, and accusing her of abusing the children. We no longer attend Little Blessings. Since leaving, I have received two hateful messages—one from the main provider and one from the other provider’s daughter. According to in.gov, Little Blessings received a citation for not reporting a police charge she received on a weekend off. The main provider’s text blamed me for her citation. I do not recommend sending your children to Little Blessings. As a parent, you should be able to question your children’s provider(s) and receive reassuring feedback, not defensive backlash. |
