Comment: Alicja is very outgoing and bubbly, and clearly loves the kids. Having said that, there is also a lot that could improve. 1. She does not change diapers often enough. On three separate occasions, I dropped my 7-month-old daughter off to Alicja’s daycare in the morning with no diaper rash. When I picked her up in the afternoon, she had the worst diaper rash I have ever seen- it was all over the entirety of both of her butt cheeks as well as inside. My daughter does not have sensitive skin and it does not get irritated easily. She has never once gotten a rash like that at home. As stated above, this happened on three separate occasions. 2. One evening, I noticed right after I picked up my daughter from daycare that she had a golf ball-sized bruise with a little scratch on the back of her head. This was before my daughter was able to sit up on her own, and she was not able to reach that far back. Therefore, there’s no way she could have done it herself. I asked Alicja about it and she told me that she didn’t see it or know what happened. I understand that kids can play rough and accidents happen, but I feel like she should have at least been aware that something happened. 3. Alicja is not following the Covid-19 guidelines. I have pictures that she sent me of my daughter sitting within 6 inches of another baby on the couch, and another picture of my daughter and two other kids all gathered around a toy. In addition to not having the kids practice social distancing, Alicja also did not notice when my daughter had a fever. My daughter had gotten her vaccines the day before, did not have a fever when I dropped her off in the morning, but did have a fever when I picked her up in the afternoon. I let Alicja know as soon as I got her home and took her temperature, and Alicja said she hadn’t noticed. With all of the screening precautions and safety measures surrounding Covid-19 that she is supposedly taking, I feel like Alicja should have noticed that one of the children in her care had a fever. 4. Every day I sent in a lunch bag with ice packs that had bottles of breast milk. More often than not, I would have to dump out 2-4 ounces due to Alicja warming it and then leaving it out for too long, spoiling it. 5. As enthusiastic and caring as Alicja seems, she also has some less than ideal qualities. Every time I brought up a concern I had, what I got back from Alicja was defensiveness and excuses. Not once did she apologize or reassure me that it wouldn’t happen again. All she did was make excuse after excuse and insist that she was doing her job and following my instructions. Some of her excuses sounded like outright lies (but of course I can’t prove that). There were other smaller things that happened at this daycare that were unsatisfactory as well, but I’m only listing the larger issues I had with Alicja and her daycare. All of the above occurred within two months (which is how long my daughter attended this daycare). I have text message conversations and pictures as proof should anyone want to see them.
