The school opened during the great period of interest in the Montessori method of education during the 1960's. It is located in a historical building, which once served as the Bolton Public Library. This location helps us to serve the towns of Bolton, Vernon, Manchester, Tolland, Coventry, Andover, East Hartford, Hebron, Marlborough, Windsor, South Windsor, Stafford Springs, Hartford, and other surrounding communities. At The Hans Christian Andersen Montessori School children learn to explore, question, and enjoy the wonder of learning. We encourage each child to discover their amazing and unique abilities. The school is an affiliated member of the American Montessori Society and licensed by the State of Connecticut. The programs run four and five days per week, full and part time. We also have an extended-care morning program and lunch program available. It accepts children ages 2 years and 9 months through 6 years into the program.
