Mrs. Cathey is the most caring and has a gentle soul. She loves each and every child as if they were her own, and she is excellent at what she does. I would encourage anyone who needs childcare, to contact Mrs. Cathey. She is an awesome childcare provider!

In reference to "Unhappy Parent" on 12/4/2013. She stated that she kept her child home until he was cleared by his pediatric doctor. December 4, 2013 is the same day that this child broke out in a rash and I called his mother to come pick him up. She took him to the doctor and called me back in couple of hours. The mother told me that the doctor said her child had the "hand, foot, mouth virus" and was cleared by the doctor to return to daycare. I notified the other parents of this breakout and they were very alarmed for the child to come back immediately. Since the parents were alarmed, I did talk to a pediatric nurse and call the local Health Department. The health department sent me this information in an e-mail: http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/transmission.html I was saddened that the mother could not understand why I wanted her child to wait a few days until he could return to daycare. Just 24 hrs is not enough time for HFMV.

We were very nervous leaving our son with someone other than family, especially with the long hours that we work. Ms. Cathey invited us over for a couple of hours to see how Grayson would interact with her and the other kids. This was very comforting to us and put our minds at ease. Ms. Cathey is very attentive to our son's wants and needs. She treats him like one of her own grandkids. He loves going to Ms. Cathey's house! She send us pictures and texts of the fun things he does with the other children. They do arts and crafts, and he loves when they listen to music and dance around. She taught him how to sign "more" and "done". She worked with him to be more comfortable using utensils to eat. He has come out of his shell and learned how to interact with other children. She treats Grayson with a great amount of love and tenderness. I can't say enough good things about Ms. Cathey. She loves our son and Grayson absolutely loves her!

Comment: Although Cathey is "nice" I feel she does not manage her daycare well. My child was sick and I took the proper precautions of keeping him at home until he was cleared by his pediatrician. She would not allow him back because the other parents were concerned, and because she spoke to a nurse who have her basic information of the illness. I did everything she asked, but still could not take my child back until she thought it was safe. HE WAS CLEARED BY HIS DOCTOR!!! Then she refused any kind of reimbursement for days missed and when I decided he would no longer be going to the center. I think her care is inadequate and my son will not be going back.

Comment: Miss Cathey is a very kind and careing lady. She has made me feel at home since the first day I met her. Her house is clean and well organized. I drop my 6 month old son off to her with no worries and always pick him up happy. She has formed a bond with him and he loves going over there. She also keeps me informed, sending pictures and texts during the day which helps me get through the work day. Choose Miss Cathey and you will never regret it! :)

Cathey McBrayer is an incredible child care provider! From the first day we met her, my 13 month old adored her. Cathey is attentive and loving. She is gentle with Alyssa, provides nutritious meals, and pays close attention to Alyssa's needs and wants. Knowing that my daughter is in such capable and caring hands puts my mind at ease. I never have to worry about Alyssa while she is at Miss Cathey's. In fact, Alyssa doesn't want to stop hugging her when I come for pick up! Choose Miss Cathey and you won't regret it :).
